Leaf raking and garden rest (Nov. 4)

  • Who: You and your family, friends, and neighbors
  • What: Help get Hope House and Gardens ready for the winter months. You'll work together to prepare the garden for "hibernation" and rake up leaves. 
  • When: Saturday, November 4, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
  • Where: Hope House and Gardens, 15894 Greydale Street, Detroit, Michigan 48223
  • How: Bring friends along with lawn bags to donate and rakes to share!

Great Lakes Bioneers Annual Conference (Oct. 27 - 29)

  • Who: Great Lakes Bioneers Detroit
  • What: Annual conference 
  • When: Friday, October 27 - Sunday, October 29
  • Where: Marygrove College, Detroit
  • Why: This conference brings together people from many different backgrounds to explore how to create a community growing in spirituality and sustaining the earth.

Prayers at Masjid As Salaam Community (Oct. 27)

  • What: Prayer service
  • When: Friday, October 27, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Where: Masjid As Salaam mosque, 21628 Fenkell Avenue, Detroit
  • How: Men, please wear pants. Women, please cover arms and legs and wear a head scarf.

Awakening the Dreamer Retreat and Workshop (Nov. 12)

  • Who: Intentional Living Collective, Interfaith Council for Peace and Justice, and First Unitarian Universalist Church of Ann Arbor
  • What: Half-day workshop that helps participants explore roles for bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on Earth. Voices for Earth Justice founder Patty Gillis is one of the facilitators.
  • When: Sunday, November 12, 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
