ENVIRONMENTAL Health Resources
The products we use in our homes and institutions contain many chemicals that are hazardous to all forms of life. Exposure to toxic chemicals in everyday products represents one of the greatest threats to ecosystems, and the most vulnerable humans, especially children and the elderly. As people of faith, we are called to protect the most vulnerable and the health of future generations.
Using materials from the National Council of Churches, we offer "Holy Housekeeping" workshops that consist of prayer (optional), a presentation on environmental health, particularly in regard to cleaning products, and opportunity for discussion. A booklet called Mindful Living: Human Health, Pollution, and Toxics is given to each person, as well as a reusable bag, and Holy Housekeeping cleaning materials with recipe cards. The recipes can be downloaded here:

Voices for Earth Justice is a member of the Michigan Network for Children's Environmental Health. MNCEH is a coalition of health professionals, health-affected groups, environmental organizations, and others dedicated to a safe and less toxic world for Michigan's children. Through education, outreach, and advocacy, the coalition works to change current policies and practices that result in exposure of children to environmental toxics.
